Refund policy

At Sumeko, every piece is made in limited quantities. We follow a mindful and transparent return policy.

No Returns or Refunds for Change of Mind

We do not accept returns or refunds for:

  • Change of mind

  • Incorrect selection (size, colour, scent, or design preference)

  • Minor variations in colour, texture, glaze, or finish, which are natural characteristics of handmade products

Due to the limited nature of our products, we do not accept returns or refunds for non-defective items.

Order Confirmation & Address Changes

Once an order is placed, it cannot be cancelled.

However, customers may request address corrections before the order is dispatched. Once an order has been dispatched, no changes or cancellations can be made.

Please review your shipping details carefully at checkout.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

We take great care in packaging your order. However, if your item arrives damaged during transit or you receive an incorrect product, please contact us at hello@sumeko.in within 48 hours of delivery.

To help us process claims efficiently, customers should provide:

  • Order details

  • An uninterrupted unboxing video clearly showing the package, product, and damage

  • Original packaging

  • Additional photographs of the damaged item and packaging may also be requested.

Claims reported within 48 hours of delivery will typically be reviewed within 3–5 business days.

Once verified, we will offer an appropriate resolution based on availability:

  • Replacement of the damaged item

  • Partial refund (for the damaged item only) if replacement is unavailable

  • In rare cases, a full refund if no suitable resolution is possible

Damaged items are not required to be returned.

Candles

Due to hygiene and safety considerations:

  • Soy wax candles are not eligible for return or refund once opened or used

  • Frosting, slight colour variations, melt patterns, and surface texture changes are natural characteristics of soy wax and are not considered defects.

  • Refunds or replacements are applicable only in cases where the candle glass jar is damaged during shipping and verified as per the above process.

Sets & Bundles

Products sold as sets or bundles are intended to be purchased together.

  • Individual items from a set cannot be returned separately

  • In case of damage to one item within a set:

    • We will replace the damaged item if available

    • If replacement is unavailable, a partial refund for the damaged item may be issued

Full set refunds are not provided unless the entire set is affected.

Discount Codes & Sale Items

  • Orders placed using discount codes remain eligible for replacement or refund only in cases of transit damage or incorrect items

  • Items purchased during sales or clearance events are considered final sale and are not eligible for return, replacement, or refund

Shipping Delays

While we strive to dispatch and deliver orders within the estimated timelines, delays may occasionally occur due to courier operations, weather conditions, holidays, or circumstances beyond our control. Such delays do not qualify for cancellation, refund, or compensation.

Sustainability Commitment

Returns contribute significantly to material waste and carbon emissions. In line with our commitment to responsible production and mindful consumption, we do not accept returns for non-defective items.
